In the early stage of curtain wall project management , there was serious negligence in the management of curtain wall materials. For example, when a large area of glass curtain wall needed to be installed, the glass materials failed to arrive on time, causing the construction workers to stop working and wait for materials, and the project was stagnant. At the same time, the material storage management was poor, and some materials were piled up in the open air at the construction site without anyone to manage them. They were exposed to wind and rain, and were damaged and deteriorated, which affected the performance of the materials and increased the material costs.
To solve these problems, the material management process was optimized. First, a scientific material procurement plan was established. The types and quantities of materials required at each stage were calculated in detail according to the project progress, and communication and coordination with suppliers in advance ensured that materials were supplied on time. Secondly, strengthen material storage management, build special material storage warehouses, classify and store different types of materials, and take corresponding protective measures to avoid damage and deterioration of materials. Through these improvements, the timeliness of material supply has been greatly improved, material loss has been significantly reduced, the project has been smoothly advanced, and construction efficiency has been significantly improved.
